A mixed martial arts (MMA) training program called MMAXOUT consisting of drills that hone techniques and fighting skills which can be combined together to create an overall extreme workout training session was created by Bruce Drago. Students work drills, skills and conditioning into their workout session for each class consisting of four phases. Over 20 years of classroom experience of its creator, Bruce Drago, are incorporated into Drago’ MMAXOUT program. The program’s four phases are:
First Phase – Standup Fighting
Muay Thai is the best standup fighting system, according to Bruce Drago. To develop strength, increase speed and enable students to do explosive attacks, skills such as, boxing, kickboxing and strike fighting are incorporated in this phase.
Second Phase – Grappling
Grappling skills in MMA training, are combined with ground striking into one intense program.
Third Phase – Clinch
From the clinch position, every student is taught how to work everything including MMA fighting/training, takedowns, throws, cage pins and counters.
Fourth Phase – MMA.
This phase provides intense, explosive and realistic standup-to-ground and ground-to-standup training to simulate the reality of a true MMA fight and combines all three previous phases at once.
Bruce Drago has been studying martial arts since he was five years old. He has multiple black belts in Korean and Japanese martial arts and is a member of the International Black Belt Hall of Fame.
