Eric Youn is a professional social worker and as such, he is contributing greatly to the community. Eric ensures that the youth of society are given a fair chance in life. Mr Youn has done this over the years not just by working for organizations; Eric has also volunteered his services to notable programs just to be able to help. This is the best example of the passion and dedication that Eric Youn has for this job and the love he has for the community.

One of Eric’s most valuable achievements is the C-Corps program which he managed during his time with American YouthWorks. The program is an alternative learning program or charter high school for kids that cannot fit in with public education. The program teaches them the basics of computer use and web design. Not only that, the program goes one step further by giving the kids AmeriCorps jobs. Under the management of Eric Youn, the C-Corps program won the Best Bridge over the Digital Divide award from the Austin Chronicle.

As a volunteer, Eric Youn has been with The Arrow Project, Hawai’i Children’s Cancer Foundation and the University of Hawai’i where Mr Youn still works for to this day.

1999 – 2000 Academic Appointments of Eric Youn

From August 1999 to November 2000, Eric Youn was a Consultant at the Center for Social Work Research at the University of Texas in Austin. Eric Youn job entailed him to develop computer based questionnaires that were to be used in gathering information about day care centers all across the state. In addition, Mr Youn taught training classes to instruct graduate students on how to use the system as well as what to do in the cases of call backs, open ended questions, partially completed questionnaires and other issues. Also as a consultant, Eric Youn reviewed the collected data from the surveys and transferred them into statistical analysis databases.

As a qualified professional, Eric Youn was selected for numerous academic appointments. Apart from being a Consultant, Eric was also a Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington – School of Social Work; a Graduate Research Assistant at the School of Social Work at the University of Texas, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas in Arlington – School of Social, an Assistant Professor at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa – School of Social Work and an Adjunct Professor at Texas Christian University – School of Social Work.
